What differences exist between the "white neighborhood" and the "black neighborhood" in native son?

There are a lot of differences between the "white neighborhood" and the "black neighborhood" in native son. The white neighborhood in native son was spacious, the houses were huge lights glowed softly in the windows, and streets were empty except for an occasional car, white picket fences: "the american dream"! The black neighborhood in native son was crowded, people were out side smoking, lots of apartments that were "rat infested", and people masturbated in the movie theatre. These are the differences between the white and black neighborhoods in native son.
